Between the Wings of the Cherubim
Commune With God Within the Scriptures

Inspie's PlaceIn the scripture of the ancient Torah the great "I Am" promised His chosen people that He would meet them "Between the Wings of the Cherubim”. That was a promise of love and protection. By God's instructions Moses was told to build The Tent of Meeting, a place of sacrifice, worship and the dwelling place of the Most High God. His instructions were specific and everything had its place and purpose.
Within the Holy of Holies was placed the Ark of the Covenant, it was upon this Ark that the Glory of God would come down, between the overshadowing wings of the Cherubim Angels built upon what is known as the Mercy Seat. Once a year on the Day of Atonement the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies and place the sacrifice of blood onto the Mercy Seat of the Ark. This blood was to cleanse the sins of the people for the past year. God was faithful to forgive their sins if the priest performed the rituals as He instructed Moses.
You shall make two cherubim of gold; you shall make them of hammered work, at the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other; of one piece with the mercy seat you shall make the cherubim at its two ends. The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings. They shall face one to another; the faces of the cherubim shall be turned toward the mercy seat. You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark; and in the ark you shall put the covenant that I shall give you. There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the Ark of the Covenant, I will deliver to you all My commands for the Israelites (Exodus 25:18-22).
Today we do not perform rituals of blood sacrifices. Jesus made the final atonement for sin at Golgatha's Hill. The New Covenant was made and the Holy of Holies was opened, the veil that kept man away from God was torn in two at the moment of Jesus' death. Washed in His precious blood we can now meet God face to face, up close and personal.
God still communes with us if we seek Him, through His Holy Spirit, by His Word and in prayer. The scriptures that God inspired man to write are now within the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible. The hundreds of scrolls of ancient text have been translated by scholars into a number of translations.
Through the ages this text has been persecuted, banned, burned and abolished by men and their laws, but nonetheless this text has prevailed and even flourished. The Holy Bible as we know it is the longest running best seller in the world today! Could it be because the words within it are the same yesterday, today and forever? Could it be because there is not a problem known to man that does not have an answer within its pages?
In no other Tome can you find the answers to your questions regarding peace and war, comfort and pain, love and hatred, joy and sadness, life and death, marriage and divorce, children and parents, employers and employees (termed as master and slave), law and justice. The most beautiful love songs and poetry ever written can be found within the Psalms and Songs of Solomon. You will learn of the nature of God... loving and kind but also holy and just.
So open your Bible and commune with God. Meet Him face to face in the scriptures... meet Him Between the Wings of the Cherubim!
